My name is Alexis, but I'm widely known as my translated Elvish name of Varindė, in the Lord of the Rings community. I was first introduced to LOTRs through The Fellowship of the Ring Extended DVD. Along with that came a free ticket to see The Two Towers and the rest you could say was history!
One of the aspects of the story that intrigued me the most were the Elves. I was extremely drawn to them. In fact, you could say that I am one. I'd like to learn more about their practices and beliefs and incorporate those into my own life.
As a start, I'm learning Sindarin, which was one of the Elvish languages spoken. This is where ABME figures in.
I created the Yahoo Group back in 2003 and we use it as a mode of communication. The Elf Council tries to get together once a month to go over language lessons from the Council of Elrond website. We've also started a Book Club.
